A New QB and an Otherwise Routine Day

The big news on Friday was that the Falcons signed a new QB for our Senior "A" team's 2012-13 season.

If you follow this blog, you may recall that Bron-Villeurbanne had signed a QB out of Northern California at the beginning of August. Unfortunately, personal issues back home have prevented him from fulfilling his duties to the Falcons.

After a long and difficult search for a replacement QB, we finally found the man to lead us in another NorCal QB but this one has lots of EuroBall experience.

Our pick is Scott Boer (29 year old, 6'2", 220 lbs.) who has previously played in Denmark, Norway and France.

In the small world of EuroBall, our Hässleholm Hurricanes Offensive Coordinator in 2010, Ryan Bolland, became friends with Scott over the internet somehow.

On a Sunday when our Hurricanes did not play, we journeyed to Helsingør, Denmark to watch Scott play against the soon to be Danish National Champions, the Søllerød Gold Diggers.

Scott and his Knights battled the Gold Diggers hard that day before being worn down in the second half by Søllerød's superior depth.

It feels really good to have our QB position finally settled!

Friday was otherwise a routine day with the laundry again needing to be done at the local Lavarie Automatique. While the 30 minute washing cycle was in process, I slipped across the street to a little café for an expresso.

It was also Hair Cut day

Much cheaper than Switzerland but not quite as cheap as Barcelona. It only took about 10 minutes to coiff my hair and trim my beard.

I'll be back.

In the evening, it was time for a team meeting with our Junior team in the stadium's meeting room that lasted for 30 minutes.

My evening ended with dinner at home where I cooked a Lyonnaise specialty, Quenelles. Hard to describe them but they were good.

That was followed by a three episode NCIS mini-marathon in ENGLISH!!!

Life was good today!
